James W. Buche
James Buche graduated from Southwestern University at Georgetown, Texas with a B.A. in English in 1999. Mr. Buche earned his law degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas in 2002. During law school, he interned with the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas and with the United States Magistrate Court. He also clerked for a prominent Plaintiff's firm.
In 2003, Mr. Buche joined the Nueces County Attorney’s Office in Corpus Christi, Texas. As an Assistant County Attorney, Mr. Buche represented Nueces County and its elected public officials in a wide range of litigated matters in state and federal court. Additionally, Mr. Buche acted as full time counsel to the Nueces County Park Board, the Nueces County Bail Bond Board and as general counsel to the various departments within the County.
Mr. Buche relocated to San Diego in 2005 after receiving licensure in California. After briefly working with a San Diego bankruptcy firm, Mr. Buche established a solo practice, where he provided general business counsel to a number of businesses and individuals throughout Southern California. Mr. Buche’s practice also involved matters relating to employment, intellectual property, food and beverage industry and customs law. Mr. Buche joined Lounsbery Ferguson Altona and Peak in February 2008. Mr. Buche practices with an emphasis in municipal law, to include a variety of matters in real estate, development and administrative law.
Mr. Buche is admitted to practice in all courts for the States of California and Texas, the Federal District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas, the District Court for the Southern District of California, and the U.S. Court of International Trade. Mr. Buche is also a licensed California real estate broker, Lic. No. 01818214.
